Our History
First Baptist Church of Langhorne had its birth in 1915 when a few faithful believers began to meet weekly for prayer and Bible study. The church building was constructed in 1920 and has undergone several renovations since that time.
Since its founding, the mission of the church continues to focus on providing a forum and spiritual programming that will attract, retain, and afford all participants an opportunity to grow, server, and worship God. Central to this mission is a strong belief in the WORD of God and its applicability to our daily lives.
The teaching and preaching has its foundation in the WORD and all are encouraged actively to participate in all Bible study sessions. The church’s first responsibility is to proclaim the WORD of God that disciples might be made.
As an independent Baptist church, First Baptist is not aligned with any of the major Baptist conventions, but chooses to have active fellowship with local churches of all denominations while maintaining the Baptist culture.
The church strives to meet the needs of each participant through organized Bible study, auxiliaries that solicit participation and use of time and talents, activities for youth of all ages, and outreach program.
